Unauthorized photocopying of copyright music is ILLEGAL. Any use of photocopied material by competitor or accompanist may result in disqualification.
Classes marked with a Rose symbol are considered the most senior level of competition. Prize winners from these classes will be eligible for the top Rose Bowl prize.
It is the responsibility of teachers and parents to check the eligibility of competitors and the selection of their pieces. Teachers must select the grade which the competitor is currently studying or is in as of December 31st, 2025. Note that competitors in the Preparatory Class must perform 2 selections.
COMPETITORS MAY NOT USE THE SAME PIECE IN MORE THAN ONE CLASS.
ALL SELECTIONS MUST BE CHOSEN FROM THE SAME GRADE.
Competitors who wish to be considered to represent the Peel Music Festival at Provincials MUST enter a minimum of three (3) different classes (for example: List A, List B, List C, List D, List E). Pieces from Etudes and Popular Selections are not permitted for consideration. Competitors will be selected based solely upon the recommendations of the adjudicator, and notified by the Festival that they have been recommended to proceed to Provincials if they wish to participate.
Memorization is compulsory, unless otherwise noted. Competitors not playing from memory will receive an adjudication only; no mark will be given.
Errors on entries will not be corrected. Please be extra careful when filling in entry information.
Original music must be provided for the adjudicator. Use of photocopies will result in disqualification.
Competitors may enter only ONE level in this category and ONE entry per class. All selections must be chosen from the SAME level. Pieces must be selected from the 2022 edition of the RCM Syllabus. Older editions are not acceptable. SUBSTITUTIONS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. Selections from the current Conservatory Canada Syllabus will also be accepted for the 2026 Festival.
