Since its inception in 1927, Peel Music Festival has grown to become one of the largest music festivals in Canada. It has become an important yearly cultural event in our community that attracts many young, talented performers, who, by participating in the Festival, obtain an independent appraisal of their level given by adjudicators of the highest professional stature.
The Festival is organized as an independent charity, run on a volunteer basis by some of Canada's leading music teachers. The main funding of the Festival is entry fees.
The Festival also includes a program of Scholarships, awarded to the most promising among the many talented young people competing in the Festival. Traditionally, the scholarship program has been entirely funded by donors from the community.
Supporting the Festival with a scholarship donation is an excellent way to support our community and inspire its young performers.
